Kingdom Come: Deliverance Hits PS5 Today, Free Upgrade for PS4 Owners

Going to finish my Hardcore playthrough of KCD2 today, so I'm looking forward to replaying this. Also has save transfer from PS4 to PS5.

Well, time to finally crack open the still-sealed PS4 disc I picked up for $5 a few years back!

Yup. Sign me up. Downloading this as soon as I get home from work!

Finished KCD2 yesterday and what a ride it was! I'll pop in Kcd tomorrow and enjoy it in 60 fps. Also hail War Horse for the free upgrade!

Did we go back to Dec., is it Xmas again or something? Best state of play in ages (some saying the GOAT of SOP's) GOW side scroller shadow dropped last night, next gen upgrade to KCD out now. This is amazing.

Every time we give Sony crap for the live service debacles, or lukewarm Co-op reveals, they hush us up and let us know things are perfectly fine.

It’s almost like all the goodwill that Bethesda, CDPR and others have lost over the recent years has been soaked up by Warhorse. Those guys just keep doing everything right. @StitchJones Its been a great two days and last week we also had Nioh 3. What a damn good month and RE Requiem hasn't even dropped yet.

@wildcat_kickz if you have the PlayStation App you can do it from your phone that way it will be ready for you by the time you get home.

@Areus Yeah I do have the app and have done that before, but my download speed is good enough that it should only take a few minutes to download anyway. Appreciate it, though!

The PS4 version is still only $10 CAD on sale AND it comes with the upgrade for free! I just grabbed it before they close that loophole lol

@DennisReynolds I know right. Then shortly after RE:req, Crimson Desert drops. Then only 5 weeks after that 007 and Pragmata. Plus the Marathon's and other things if they are your cup of tea in between it all. Lmao crazy start to the year and we didn't even mention the Behemoth that's GTA6 in the fall and all the other games around that

Nice, very generous of the Warhorse / Deep Silver especially as the game has been dirt cheap in the sales.
I shall revisit at some point but it is quite the time commitment.

Played the PS4 version last year on PS5, excited to play this update tonight.

“Anyone who owns the PS4 version receives a free upgrade to the PS5 edition, which boasts 60 frames-per-second, and "enhanced visual fidelity and graphical features for a smoother experience". A physical version of Kingdom Come: Deliverance on PS5 will be available from 15th May 2026.
The announcement comes as the developer celebrates Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 selling over five million units since its launch this time last year. In a press release, CEO Martin Frývaldský said he's proud of the milestone”

I just put it on for 5 min , massive difference to fidelity and fps , those blurry graphics have finally gone

Quick question for anyone who might know. I have the ps4 version downloaded but I can't seem to find one that says "PS5" in the corner, will the regular ps4 version just give higher fidelity/frame rate or is my store not updating properly?

Great. I can’t remember where I got, but I played it a good couple of dozen hours. Great game, god awful combat. I do remember the menus being laggy, hopefully this helps.

I'll try again, hopefully they improved the awful controls, gave up after 10 minutes.

Really cool that it's a free upgrade. I still plan on starting the sequel sometime soon, it's been sitting in my library for quite some time.

I'm too depressed to have fun with all the announcements and surprises being released yesterday and today, but I'm glad I've bought the PS4 version of this game in December. Nice time to be a PS5 gamer huh

@Lorcansface no its a native ps5 version , it should be on the store , just delete the ps4 version ,you dont need it

@4fold i felt exactly the same about the combat and menus also the lockpicking sucked but im gonna give it a go again as i loved the world and characters.

@Blauwe_Chimay Yes, this studio cemented themselves in "one of the great ones" after KCD2 for sure IMO. I wish they would do a cyberpunk RPG. Straight be a CDPR studio clone, I don't care. I bet that game would come out sick

In case anyone was wondering, I noticed the PS4 Royal edition is one sale for $8. I bought it and got the upgrade for free. So if you buy it today on PS4, you get the upgrade instead of the PS5 version for $30.

I've been undecided over this game for years now. I heard someone who loves both games not recommend this on console due to the performance issues. Hopefully this sorts those and it will be finally time to take the plunge.

@Scottyy lol thanks. Reanimal is def another one i want to check out. It was on my radar for ages. I still have a backlog of games to get to that I bought during the PSN xmas sale. Reanimal slipped my mind. I love quirky games with unique art styles to switch things up like Little nightmares and now Reanimal. It just came out today right, have you been playing it yet or waiting for the weekend?

Actually I need to play LM2 first since I want to see their "evolution" but Reanimal is definetely this year for me too. Hopefully. 😃

@Balaam_ agree, however at least CDPR rebounded and turned water to wine or Blood and wine (see what i did there?) lmao with the fixing of CP2077. That game is fantastic now. Oblivion remastered however, still not fixed, buggy as hell and from what I've read they have no more plans to patch that further. Heck I'm still waiting for the Borderlands 4 ps5pro memory leak to get fixed. WTF is up with that one? are they hoping we'd just forget about that?

for Royal Edition owners or just those looking for the DLC add ons, it looks like you have to download them again separately as it is a totally new PS5 listing for the game. As you look at the PS5 update on your home screen just scroll down all DLC's are listed as free and have their own download files on that main page

@Oram77 @trev666 I just had a quick go of it and did the save transfer it offered. Playing my last save just before the epilogue popped one trophy for walking 50km 😄
By quickly doing the epilogue I got the trophies for completing the game as well as all quests.

So no actual auto-pop but if you have saves at certain points you could probably get many quicker.

I'm going to replay anyway but might test if any of my saves help get some of the more awkward trophies out of the way first.

@AinsleyE really? Nice, will stop me having to look for the information about ps4 saves transferring over glad it will as I need to go back to it sometime after i finish KDC 2

Hated the combat in this game, only done few hours on it. Thought I’d try it again with PS5 version, and yup still hate the combat so it’s deleted already.
